The role of the Executive Committee is to develop and implement the Group's strategy, while delivering service quality and added value to the Group's projects for the benefit of its clients, shareholders and employees. It is also charged with improving interaction and cooperation among the Group's three global business lines and among the different geographic markets where the Group does business.
The composition of the Group's Executive Committee is as follows:

Chief Executive Officer
Gilles Grapinet is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration and a French Inspecteur Général des Finances. He was Director of Information Systems and Strategy at the French Direction Générale des Impôts (Tax Department) and Director of the Copernic program, charged with creating an “e-Tax department” for electronic filing of tax returns and payment of taxes. He was an economic and financial adviser to the French Prime Minister in 2003 and 2004, then Chief of Staff to two ministers of Economy and Finance, from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, he joined the Executive Committee of France’s Crédit Agricole SA bank, in charge of strategy and, later, of the group’s Systems and Payment Services division. Mr. Grapinet joined Atos in December 2008. He currently serves as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Global Functions for the Atos Group, in which capacity he has headed Global Support Functions, ensured coordination and development of Global Sales and Marketing and of the Consulting and Technology Services division and supervised development of the Group’s activities. He has been Chief Executive Officer of Worldline since July 2013. Gilles Grapinet was decorated Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2011.
Marc-Henri Desportes is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines de Paris. He was Deputy Program Director of the Copernic program at the French Ministry of Finance from 2000 to 2005 then, from 2005 to 2006, took charge of audit coordination at BNP Paribas. Mr. Desportes then became Chief Information Officer at BNL, the Italian subsidiary of BNP Paribas. He joined the Atos Group in 2009 as Director of the Global Innovation Business Development & Strategy (GIBS) Global Business Line, becoming Director of the High Technology Settlement Services and Specialized Activities business unit in July 2011. Mr. Desportes became a member of the Executive Committee of Atos SE and, in July 2013, Senior Executive Vice President of Worldline. He was appointed Worldline’s General Manager in 2014.
Michael Steinbach began his career in payments at the GZB-Bank in Stuttgart, where he rose to become head of Electronic Payments in 1985. Since then, he has headed increasingly large and complex payment divisions formed by mergers in the German banking world, becoming a director of Germany’s DZ BANK AG in 2003 – where he headed the Payments department. He has been spokesman of the Board of Directors of the Transaktionsinstitut für Zahlungsverkehrsdienstleistungen AG since July 2003. Becoming Deputy Chairman of Equens in 2006, Michael Steinbach went on to become Chairman and, in January 2012, CEO of Equens. Mr. Steinbach is a member of many national and international payment committees, holds a seat on the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank Nederland NV and is Chairman of the International Payments Framework Association (IPFA). He became CEO of equensWorldline in 2016.
Chief Technical Officer and Chief Operation Officer
Christophe Duquenne is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale in Paris. He joined Atos in 1987 and has held numerous managerial positions there. After directing the Group’s French activities for six years, he joined the global management team in July 2011. Mr. Duquenne is a member of the Executive Committee of Atos SE and was appointed CTO of Worldline in July 2013. He was also responsible for Worldline’s Merchant Services & Terminals Global Business Line, before being appointed as the Group’s Chief Operation Officer in 2016, in addition to his role as Chief Technical Officer.
Managing Director for Merchant Services & Terminals
Vincent Roland studied electrical and electronic engineering and holds multiple degrees, including an MBA. He has attended several schools in Europe, such as the University of Leuven (Belgium), Solvay Business School (Belgium), the London School of Economics and the IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, and has over 12 years of experience in the payments industry. Mr. Roland began his career with Alcatel, where he became Vice President of Microelectronics. He then served as Senior Vice President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at First Data, before becoming CEO at Banksys, before its acquisition by Atos Worldline. After two years as Senior Vice President of Atos Worldline, he joined the Point Group, as Senior Vice President for new markets. After Point was acquired by VeriFone, in 2011, he became General Manager and Vice President of all VeriFone and Point companies in France. He became Managing Director for Worldline’s Merchant Services & Terminals Global Business Line in 2016.
Chief Operation Officer and Deputy CEO for equensWorldline and
Managing Director for Worldline Germany & CEE
Wolf Kunisch is a graduate of the Technische Universität Berlin and of the MBA program of INSEAD. He began his career as a project manager at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Stuttgart, Germany and in Paris. Joining the Atos Group in 2000, he performed management functions in innovative and international business development. Mr. Kunisch is currently responsible for Worldline’s Financial Processing & Software Licensing Global Business Line as well as the Group’s German and Eastern Europe geographical zones and has been in charge of Worldline in Germany since 2010 and in Austria since 2013. He became both COO and Deputy CEO for equensWorldline in 2016.
Managing Director for Mobility & e-Transactional Services
Olivier Stuckens is a graduate of the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble and the University of Huddersfield in England. He joined the Atos Group in 1992 and, until 2005, performed various managerial roles in the areas of media and banking/finance. As from 1999, his duties related to transaction-services platforms for large international accounts. He then contributed to the development of Atos Worldline’s Health sector business, creating and managing the Santeos consortium GIE. Olivier Stuckens was Director of the Telecom, Utilities and Media business unit in France, from 2006, before being appointed head of Worldline’s Mobility & e-Transactional Services Global Business Line in 2013.
Chief Financial Officer
Bruno Vaffier is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the MBA program at INSEAD. He began his career as an investment banker at JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch in Paris and London, where he participated in numerous mergers and acquisitions and capital-markets transactions. He joined the Atos Group in 2000 as chief of staff for the Chairman of Atos Origin. From 2003 to 2006, he was the head of Internal Audit for the Atos Group and then served as Director of Operations in Spain, in which capacity he was responsible for MRT (Manufacturing, Retail, Transport) clients and for Worldline’s activities in Spain. In 2009, Bruno Vaffier joined the Innovation, Business Development and Strategy department of Atos, which department he headed from 2011 until 2014, at which point he became CFO of Worldline.
General Counsel and Head of Legal & Compliance
Tahar Garèche is a graduate of France’s Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). He holds a degree in International Business Law from the Sorbonne (Paris). Mr. Garèche began his career in 1999, in corporate banking, with Paribas (in Paris and New York), later becoming an equity analyst at BNP Paribas, in Paris, covering the IT Services & Software sector in Europe. In 2006, he joined the Debevoise & Plympton law firm, as an international corporate lawyer, staying for nine years and specializing in Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions and corporate governance. Tahar Garèche has been General Counsel for Worldline since March 2014.
Head of Human Resources
Patrice Gry is a graduate of France’s Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace. Having begun his career at Air France, as an operational engineer, he went on to take on various HR roles within Air France. In 1991, he joined France’s Crédit Agricole bank, where he became head of Executive Management and Training. Recruited by JCDecaux (a group specialized in outdoor advertising), he spent 11 years as the Group HR Director and then became Assistant General Manager of Operations for a subsidiary. In 2008, he became HR Director for the Darty Group, then, in 2012, joined the Bull Group, again as HR Director. In 2014, Atos acquired Bull and Patrice Gry became HR Director of Worldline in September 2015, having piloted Bull’s integration into the Atos Group.
Chief Sales Officer
Terry Lobel is a graduate of France’s Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and holds a masters degree in General Management from the IESE Business School. From 1994 to 1996, he worked for Sun Microsystems, in the UK and the U.S. He then joined the McKinsey management consultancy, as a Manager, in Paris and New York. Moving to Spain in 1999, he became a Senior Consultant for Arthur D. Little. In 2001, he joined Hewlett Packard, as an Account Service Manager for major accounts then, in 2003, became Sales Development Director for HP Iberia. Terry Lobel joined Atos Consulting in October 2006, as an associate, and was appointed Manager of Hi-Tech Transactional Services (HTTS) for the Iberian Peninsula in 2010. Following the Worldline carve-out in 2013, he became CEO of the Worldline’s Spanish subsidiary. In October 2014, he was appointed Chief Sales Officer for Worldline.
