Worldline to assist MICHELIN® solutions in developing connected solutions
Paris, 26 July 2013
Worldline, Atos subsidiary for e-payment transactional services, to assist MICHELIN® solutions, a Michelin group company specialising in fleet mobility, with the implementation of innovative connected solutions for B2B customers. The Worldline solution Connected Vehicles gives MICHELIN® solutions the ability to propose new value-added solutions to fleets.
Worldline is well-positioned in processing transactions, exchanges and optimising the use of data between customers and their users. As such, it developed the Connected Vehicles solution to assist its customers in the auto and transportation industry in what matters most to their business development: mobility.
Worldline will implement a telematic platform for collecting and processing vehicle data for MICHELIN® solutions customers. The data is collected by a unit installed in the vehicle which transmits information such as total kilometres, fuel consumption, temperature, tyre pressure and even geolocation.
With this information transmitted via the installed unit, MICHELIN® solutions can develop solutions with guaranteed results, based on an enhanced understanding of the daily activities of carriers and an analysis and remote control of vehicle settings.
According to Philippe Miret, CEO of Michelin solutions, "Worldline is the trusted partner we have chosen to implement this digital transformation for our connected solutions. Its teams’ attention to detail and end-to-end technological expertise were the deciding factors in our decision."
François Gatineau, Directeur Global Business Division M2M and Mobility at Worldline explained, “Worldline has developed solid expertise in implementing cutting-edge services that boost business value. Today, the auto sector needs cutting-edge, flexible, and tailored solutions that can help it navigate the new ecosystem created by connected vehicles. Worldline is strongly positioned as a capable partner to assist auto industry actors in this digital and mobility transformation".
Since May 2013, MICHELIN® solutions has been deploying EFFIFUEL™, its first innovative solution for heavy-weight fleets, in Europe with the aim of reducing fuel consumption. It will be rolled out in North America, Latin America and Asia beginning 2014. Expanding solutions to light-weight fleets is part of MICHELIN® solutions' deployment plans.
