Worldline receives license for digital storage of public archives
Paris, March 16, 2015 – Worldline [Euronext: WLN], European payments and transactional services market leader, has had its license renewed for the digital storage of recent and old public archives. Issued by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the license guarantees that Worldline's archiving solution is developed and operates in compliance with ISO 14641-1 and AFNOR NF Z 42-013 to ensure the archives remain legally valid over the long term. Worldline offers customers optimum security to preserve their past documentation over the long term while providing users authenticity, integrity, accessibility and readability for their digital documents.
The French multi-ministerial archiving department ("SIAF"), which is very strict about issuing licenses to private third-party operators for safeguarding public archives, found key underlying strengths justifying issue of the license renewal in respect of the server centers in Seclin (Nord county) and Vendôme (Loir-et-Cher county). The strengths that contributed to the decision included the location in France of several remote sites over 400km away, introduced audit trail and security functionality, high staff skills, technical documentation, procedures for destroying paper archives and compliance with AFNOR NF Z 42-013 quality standard.
Hervé Lemoine, Director responsible for French Archives, said: "This decision underlines how competent and professional the dedicated Worldline team is, who take care of digital third party archiving, as well as the high quality of the infrastructure used and the stringent security underlying the service. The digital third party archiving business receives investment required for other highly sensitive Worldline businesses".
This license is a mark of confidence for companies of all sizes, which can now entrust the task of safeguarding their digital documentation to Worldline with total assurance, while offering their end customers a digital archiving service for SMEs backed by impenetrable security. Furthermore, Worldline enables clients to offer services designed for individuals thanks to its digital eSafe service, certified NF, which is a digital safe application complying with AFNOR NF Z 42-020.
Claude France, chief operating officer Worldline France, said: "Our capacity to provide highly sensitive services such as safeguarding data to public and private sector businesses satisfies current requirements to digitize processes and services more than ever before. This new license demonstrates Worldline's determination to support clients with their digital transformation backed by high security".
