Worldline awarded for its WL eBanking Payment Services solution at the MERCHANT PAYMENTS ECOSYSTEM (MPE)

Berlin, February 18th 2016. At the 2016 MPE awards ceremony held on February 17th, Worldline [Euronext:WLN], European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, won the Emerging Payment award for its WL eBanking Payment Services solution,  powered by  its Multi-Service Platform allowing to process a variety of e-authorization use cases – initiation, routing and validation of credit transfers, e-Mandates and e-identity checks.

WL eBanking Payment Services solution provides consumers with a simple and safe way to pay for online purchases via their online banking portal/app. They can make credit transfers or validate e-Mandates for direct debit payments. The shopping experience is faster, more convenient and more trusted by consumers.

For merchants, identity-based fraud risks are minimized thanks to strong authentication within the online banking context and they benefit from real-time authentication where payments are guaranteed.

Banks are also benefiting from the solution as it strengthens the relationship with current customers through the online banking interface and leverages new business through value-added services offered to consumers and corporations.

The Multi-Service Platform is the fruit of 10 years of iDEAL processing experience in the Netherlands and is continuously enhanced to offer both local and pan-European services.

Besides, the Multi-Service Platform is designed to be stable to process millions of transactions today, but also to be flexible to deal with future topics in the payment ecosystem.

“In an ever changing environment, banks and merchants will always be challenged by new trends and developments. The ideas in the area of Online Banking ePayment to meet future requirements are manifold: instant payments, Access to Account and e-identity are topics that banks and merchants need to follow closely. Worldline, as the leading European player in the payments and transactional services industry, will be ready to support banks and merchants in their continuous transformation.” Wolf Kunisch, Managing Director Financial Processing & Software Licensing and Germany & CEE at Worldline.
