New Sales Management System: Sales alliance of public transport operators relies on Worldline
Frankfurt/Main, 11. April 2017 - Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European market leader for payment and transaction services, supplies a modern and powerful sales management system for public transport for the six largest public transport companies in the Rhein-Ruhr Transport Association. The new system supports all business processes that are associated with customer management and the sale of tickets. The result: an intermodal and central platform, with which the customer can access all offers and services involving the purchase of tickets, in a user-friendly and efficient manner. In addition to services for customers, the new system also facilitates the processing of contracts and clearing for the transport network operators.
The participating transport operators - DSW21, DVV, BOGESTRA, VIA, SWKmobil, Rheinbahn, WSWmobil - rely on a multi-tenant sales management system from Worldline for the modernization of ticket sales in public transport. In addition to technical modernization, the processes relating to the sale of tickets by the participating transport operators will also be standardized and optimized. The focus of attention is a central modular platform that integrates all processes, services and data in the area of management and sale of tickets. This will also be available to the customers, as well as the transport companies and their partners.
The new background system enables passengers to access the same ticket portfolio and services, regardless of the selected sales channel, whether ticket shops, vending machines, vehicle drivers, or apps. Depending on the transport operator’s offer, the customer receives his travel entitlement as a paper ticket, mobile ticket or smart card.
In this tailor-made solution, Worldline combines proven components from its business areas of ticketing and payments with a flexible system architecture.
The standardization of the sales processes, without giving up economic separation or neglecting company specific requirements, is a special challenge in this project. By means of a sophisticated migration concept, the system solution can be seamlessly integrated into the project partners’ existing system landscapes while preserving the individual character of the transport companies. Thanks to its modular design, the system can be easily extended or modified in the future.
