If you don't know why customers abandon your checkout, you're losing revenue you can't measure. Most online retailers track sales – few track why sales don't happen. Payment rejections, failed authentications, and checkout drop-offs leave no obvious trace unless you know where to look. MyPerformance Saferpay is a complimentary analytics tool directly integrated in the Saferpay Backoffice. It gives you a comprehensive overview of your payment data – conversion rates, rejection reasons, payment method performance, and more – without any additional cost.

In this article you will learn:

  • Why payment conversion rate is the most overlooked metric in e-commerce
  • How to identify the root cause of rejected transactions
  • Which MyPerformance dashboards matter most for daily operations
  • How to benchmark your performance year-over-year
  • How to fix checkout issues before they cost you more sales

What is MyPerformance Saferpay?

It allows online retailers to view all web shop transactions in real time at a single glance, identify payment friction, and understand how customer behaviour impacts revenue. Understanding payment flows, maximizing conversion rates: Your analytics tool at a glance

Managing payments shouldn't be a guessing game. MyPerformance gives you the visibility to optimise your revenue. With this Saferpay dashboard, you can:

  • Master your conversion rate: Easily monitor your success across all payment methods and identify where friction occurs.
  • Understand customer behaviour: Gain insights into where your customers are paying from and which payment methods they prefer.
  • Have full financial control: A precise overview of all financial transactions and flows is the key to efficient business operations.
  • Turn rejections into opportunities: Don't just watch failed payments happen. Use the Rejection Reason dashboard to understand the 'why' behind every decline – whether it's due to 3-D Secure, acquirer issues, or other factors – and get clear guidance on how to fix it.
  • Compare performance: Benchmark your current performance against the previous year or analyse how different business locations are performing side-by-side.

6 ways to get more from your payment data

Getting the most out of MyPerformance is about more than just looking at the numbers – it's about turning those numbers into action. Here is how to get the most value out of your dashboard:

1. Start your week with the Payment Overview

Instead of checking data at random, make it a Monday morning ritual. Spend 5 minutes on the Payment Overview dashboard to compare your current week's conversion rates against your long-term averages. Sudden dips or spikes are your first sign that something might need attention – a technical issue or a change in customer behaviour. You don't need to be a data scientist to understand your payments. To learn more about a calculation, hover with your mouse over the title to see an explanation. All charts have tooltips with individual data points.

The Payment Overview dashboard provides a summary of your payment activity for the selected period, including key metrics such as transaction gross amount or conversion rate.

2. Analyse your Payment Method performance

Your data is only as good as the context you give it. Don't rely on default views alone. Use the Payment Method dashboard to see if one specific method – such as credit cards vs. digital wallets – is underperforming compared to others, and identify the most common countries your customers are paying from.

3. Use the year-over-year perspective

Context is everything. A drop in sales might look alarming, but is it just a seasonal trend? Use the Transaction Values dashboard to compare performance against the same period last year. This helps you separate 'business as usual' from actual growth opportunities or issues.

The Payment Type dashboard shows payment activity across your Saferpay terminals and applications, including insights into Saferpay Payment Links.

4. The rejection deep-dive

Don't just monitor your rejection rates – investigate them. The Rejection Overview dashboard helps you monitor your rejection rate by category and track rejected transactions over time. If you notice a high rejection rate in a specific category, head straight to the Rejection Reason dashboard and take a closer look. Use this data to spot patterns:

- Is it an issue with 3-D Secure?
- Is the acquirer declining transactions?

Action: Use these findings to contact your support team or adjust your checkout settings to prevent future lost sales.

5. Keep an eye on 3-D Secure

Check the 3-D Secure dashboard regularly. If you see a high number of 'challenged' transactions compared to 'frictionless' ones, it may be worth reviewing your authentication settings to ensure a smoother checkout experience without compromising security.

6. Location check for cross-selling

If you sell internationally, check whether conversion rates are significantly lower in one specific region – this might indicate a need for a more localised payment strategy. The Location Overview dashboard allows you to compare performance across your active locations, with insights into authorised, cancelled, captured, and failed transactions.

Important

All metrics are displayed in CHF. If your account operates in a different currency, transaction values are automatically converted to CHF to ensure consistent and comparable performance insights across dashboards. However, you have the option to switch the display to EUR.
