The update to the SmartPOS software, along with access to the SmartPOS Store and Mini Cashier, POS Advertising and Smart Engage apps, is completely free of charge. Please note, however, third-party applications available in the SmartPOS Store may have associated costs.

No, there are no risks. All existing functionalities of your payment terminal will remain intact.

For all terminals purchased after the 11th of June 2025, the SmartPOS Store and Settings App will already be available on your terminal at purchase.
You will be able to find both apps in the main menu, which you can open by sliding your finger up the screen. Please open the SmartPOS Store to complete your onboarding onto the SmartPOS ecosystem, enabling you to download various apps. Once onboarded, the other apps provided in the basic package will automatically be downloaded onto your terminal.
You’re ready to go! You can now browse the SmartPOS Store and download more applications.

Once your terminal is ready to be onboarded to SmartPOS you will be informed via e-mail with the details of the update.
To minimize any disruption to your business, the installation will take place automatically overnight. Given the size of the software, please connect your terminal to your Wi-Fi to facilitate a swift download without any interruptions. To ensure a smooth update process, please follow these steps:
- Complete your daily closing as usual.
- Go to "Settings."
- Select "Android Settings."
- Choose "Network & Internet," then click on "Wi-Fi."
- Enable Wi-Fi to view the available networks.
- From the list, select your Wi-Fi.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and click "Connect."
- Press the small grey triangle on the left three times to return to the payment app menu.
- Ensure that the terminal is connected to the charger overnight.
In the morning, you will be able to find the SmartPOS Store and Settings applications in the main menu, which you can access by sliding your finger up the screen. Please open the SmartPOS Store to complete your onboarding onto the SmartPOS ecosystem, enabling you to download various apps. Yes, you can manage your installed applications, including updating or removing them, directly from the SmartPOS Store or or your the Android settings. Please keep in mind that unsinstalling an app does not equal to unsubscribing from a service.

No, Android SmartPOS and Worldline Applications are fully compliant with security standards for payment terminals. Our partners delivering their own apps are also obliged to comply with these regulations.

Yes, however, too many open apps running in the background can slow down your device. We recommend switching off services that are not used at that certain moment.
