GIE SESAM-Vitale

Digital transformation and empowered citizens.

People in France have been using the Carte Vitale health insurance card to access public health services since 1998. The government's ambition to improve the health service offered through its digital shift and the increasing use of digital tools in the daily lives of health professionals and insured persons show the interest and importance of the Carte Vitale application for health and social services. This modernisation will be significantly accelerated by a “move to cloud” transformation.

The migration to the cloud is a key step in the development of a digital Carte Vitale that will give people across France access to online authentication and identification solutions as well as real-time control over their insurance rights via a smartphone app. GIE SESAM-Vitale’s ambitious digitalisation drive is set to make accessing and navigating the French public health system easier and more efficient than ever before.

“We are very enthusiastic to partner with Worldline who will host the ‘appli carte Vitale’ as they offer a very secure and at the same time agile solution, fully adapted to our needs.”

Secure, sovereign and sensitive: a partnership built around data.

In any situation involving the sensitive data of millions of people, data security and data sovereignty are critical: GIE SESAM-Vitale required a partner with cloud hosting capabilities that could offer the very highest level of security while handling significant volumes of data. The ideal partner would also provide an agile and elastic solution that could offer the automated delivery of new updates and versions as well as the capacity to handle peaks in volume. One other key criterion for GIE SESAM-Vitale, given the scale and complexity of the project, was a partner who put the same value on trusted collaboration and working closely together.

In Worldline, GIE SESAM-Vitale found a partner with the right expertise and the right certifications for the job as well as a proven track record of trusted collaboration. This latest partnership builds on Worldline’s support to GIE SESAM-Vitale to realise its ambitions over the past 17 years.
