In response to the rising cost of living, the Italian government has introduced in September 2024 the Dedicata a Te" initiative, an electronic payment solution designed to assist families in need.

This initiative targets individuals with an ISEE (Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente) declaration of up to €15,000, providing them with financial support to initially purchase essential goods. Starting from September 9, 2024, the card's value will increase from €460 to €500, allowing beneficiaries to make their first purchase by December 16, 2024, and to utilize the full amount by February 28, 2025.

As part of the government's broader strategy to alleviate financial burdens, the recent Energy Decree approved on September 25, 2024, includes fuel supplies among the eligible purchases for the social card. This means that low-income families can now use the card to help cover their fuel expenses, a critical need in today’s economy. The government has also allocated €500 million to refinance the "Dedicata a Te" card, ensuring its continued support for those who qualify.

The project, developed in collaboration with Italiana Petroli and technically supported by Fortech, aims to enhance the utility of the social card by integrating it with fuel purchases. Beneficiaries of the card are identified by INPS (Istituto Nazionale Previdenza Sociale), and once approved, they receive a notification to collect their card from local post offices.

To further support this initiative, Italiana Petroli has introduced a special offer: cardholders can receive a €4 discount voucher for every purchase of at least 20 liters of fuel at participating IP Stations. This voucher can be redeemed for future refueling, making it easier for families to manage their fuel costs. To take advantage of this offer, users simply need to download the IP Stations app, register for the IPpiù (Italiana Petroli Loyalty Programme), and follow the straightforward process to claim their discount.

The project involved the development of a dedicated application on payment terminals, which tracks the use of the social card and generates the discount vouchers. This system is designed to operate exclusively in-store, ensuring a seamless experience for users. With approximately 5,000 payment terminals equipped for this initiative, the project is set to officially launch in September 2024, following a successful pilot phase.

In conclusion, the "Dedicata a Te" initiative represents a significant step forward in supporting low-income families in Italy. By enabling access to essential goods and providing additional benefits for fuel purchases, this initiative not only alleviates financial strain but also empowers families to make more informed choices about their spending. The collaboration between Worldline, Italiana Petroli, and Fortech exemplifies a commitment to social responsibility and community support, ensuring that those in need can access the resources necessary for a better quality of life.

" I am incredibly proud to support the 'Dedicata a Te' initiative. This program not only empowers low-income families by providing them with essential resources but also reinforces our commitment to social responsibility. Together with our partners, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most, and it fills me with joy to see our efforts contribute to a brighter future for our communities. Furthermore, this project could very well enable other forms of subsidies or discounts whenever required." Mirko Spagnolatti – Head of Internation Business development Energy at Worldline
