Worldline enters agreement with Apigee
Bezons, 26th June 2017. Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European market leader for payment and transaction services, now combines and integrates Apigee Edge Software with its services and expertise to implement digital solutions. Apigee’s complete vision enables Worldline’s solutions to address a wide range of use cases across all industry sectors.
On the first day of the Money20/20Europe event in Copenhagen, Worldline announces this agreement with Apigee Edge Software that will make it easier for Worldline’s customer to exploit the possibilities of open banking set out in the revised Payment Service Directive, PSD2.
PSD2 opens up for third parties’ secure access to payment accounts in the banks via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This development enables new ways for the banks – or third parties - to engage and connect with the bank customers.
With a product mindset Worldline embraces APIs and supports its customers in a variety of areas to compete more effectively: from digital retail through connected living to open payments to name a few. Moreover, through its equensWorldline subsidiary specialized in financial services Worldline is offering customized open banking solutions which fundamentally rely on APIs. These solutions enable financial institutions to quickly and easily launch innovative digital services while meeting open banking requirements generally set out in PSD2.
With the integration of Apigee Edge software, a best-in-class API management solution, Worldline creates additional business value for its customers through the expansion of internal and external API ecosystems. In addition, to thrive these API-enabled ecosystems, Worldline focuses on providing seamless and positive developer experiences (DX) through customized developer portals.

PSD2 is one of the main themes for Worldline at the conference, where some of its payment experts will present a new Account-to-Account solution together with a ’preparation’ guide for banks of how to become ready for PSD2.
