Worldline has been awarded by the United Nations Global Compact France for the best 2017 Communication On Progress in the large company category

Bezons, May 16th, 2018 – Worldline, [Euronext: WLN] European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, has been rewarded by the United Nations Global Compact France for having published the best 2017 Communication On Progress (COP) in the large company category. Through this award, the Global Compact highlighted the quality, the transparency and the exhaustiveness of its extra-financial communication and the progress made to embed and promote the UN Global Compact principles into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach throughout its entire value chain. This new recognition confirms and reinforces the company’s leadership in sustainability related matters, strongly supported by its TRUST 2020 program.

Signatory of the Global Compact since 2016, Worldline won the Best 2017 Communication on Progress trophy in the “large company” category (comprising the companies above 5,000 employees) during the 13th General Assembly of the Global Compact France. This event took place on the 23th of April 2018 in Paris and was the opportunity to present the awards for best communication selected by an esteemed jury.

Launched in 2000, the United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative supporting companies to align strategies and operations with the ten principles on human rights, labor rights, environment and anti-corruption. Based on voluntary commitment, the Global Compact also calls for companies to take strategic decisions to support and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Thus, the Communication On Progress aims to report annually on efforts and action plans to be aligned with these Ten Principles and provide valuable information for stakeholders, including investors, civil society, Governments and consumers, to enable them to make informed choices about the companies they partner with.

Worldline released its first COP in July 2017 as part of its commitment to make progress to support and uphold the UN’s principles, supported by its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that is embedded in its day-to-day operations at the heart of its business. The Worldline’s COP is part of the GC Advanced category covering the company’s implementation of advanced criteria, qualitative reporting and best practices regarding sustainable development. A special focus has especially been put on the measures, targets, policies and indicators around each principle for a better understanding of the current initiatives, how Worldline measures their positive impact and considers leading its continuous improvement approach for a sustainable progress at Group Level, within its ecosystem and more widely for the society at large.
