Launch of the WL Mobile Intrusion Protection solution
Bezons, January 17, 2017 – Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European leader and pace setter in the payment and transactional services sector, is launching WL Mobile Intrusion Protection: a new solution to secure mobile apps on smartphones.
The digital transformation brought about by new technologies has considerably enriched the functionalities of smartphones. Their use is now at the heart of the strategy of countless banks and merchants. This is why securing mobile apps, hosting sensitive data on smartphones, has become an unavoidable issue.
With no protection, smartphones are proving to be particularly vulnerable. According to the Nokia Threat Intelligence report, 4 out of 5 software infections now affect smartphones, while only 1 in 5 hit computers. As things stand, while there are various options for protecting sensitive data on your smartphone, few users take advantage of them. For example, according to CNIL, only 9% of users in France have installed an antivirus on their smartphone. This lack of awareness is leading to a rise in fraud on smartphones.
To respond to this security issue, which is particularly critical for banks, Worldline is launching its WL Mobile Intrusion Protection solution.
Complying with European regulations on the protection of personal data, this solution aims to protect end users from attacks and fraud, like the hacking of sensitive data.
Easy to configure, it allows users to fine-tune security policies dynamically on their smartphone, depending on the changing risks.
Ulrike Rahnama, Director Business Division Issuing, Processing, and Analytics at equensWorldline, said: "Our solution, WL Mobile Intrusion Protection, was designed so that our customers could apply their security strategies in smartphone environments, thereby taking advantage of the benefits they represent. The deployment of this solution will enable them to increase customer trust and thus develop the adoption of mobile services."
