26 / 09 / 2024
Major topics in 2024 include logistics costs, the Asian platforms and the use of AI.
In 2024, online retail is moving into an exciting phase. For example, the high logistics costs and Asian platforms are a major talking point, as are the potential applications of artificial intelligence (AI). Consumers’ payment behaviour is also changing. With the increasing number of online purchases and the growing variety of digital payment methods, this raises the question as to which trends and challenges will characterise the market in the future. With the growing variety of payment methods, merchants must be able to offer a wide range of payment options to meet the different needs of consumers.
Consumers' expectations regarding payment processes are increasing. Customers expect fast, smooth and secure transactions. In some cases, customers cancel their purchase due to long loading times, complicated payment processes or uncertainties surrounding data protection. Merchants must therefore ensure that their payment solutions are user-friendly.
