Worldline modernises payment systems at GALP service stations in Spain and Portugal

11 / 01 / 2024

Worldline has once again been chosen by GALP to modernise payment systems across its 1,300+ service stations. With over 30 years of collaboration in Spain, this new contract not only renews GALP's trust but also extends our partnership to their service stations in Portugal. The contract encompasses terminal supply and integration of Worldline's payment platform, combining private payment and loyalty systems, mobility-focused fuel cards, mobile payment apps, and diverse bank payment methods.

Worldline's solution streamlines vehicle-related transactions, from fuelling to in-store purchases and other gas station services like car washes and vending. This contract offers access to state-of-the-art payment tech tailored to the industry's current challenges. It also facilitates proactive development of optimised payment solutions, crucial for stations navigating digitalisation and managing electric charging stations and alternative fuels. And in doing so, contributes to enhancing customer experiences by enabling interaction across all channels, digital and physical, granting access to personalised dynamic pricing and promotions.

The project offers insights into customer service access, diverse payment methods (like mobile app payments, in-vehicle options, or discount vouchers), and personalised loyalty programmes across multiple platforms. Introducing a new digital platform and customer interactions creates opportunities to expand the ecosystem with new business models and collaborators.

"Our solution will manage payments in-store and at service stations in Spain and Portugal, allowing different modalities available in both countries, the management of e-commerce payments and integration with current systems. All this with the guarantee of compliance with current safety regulations, offering a frictionless user experience and optimising the management and digitalisation of GALP."
