Worldline enables Tap to Pay on iPhone in Greece

Tap to Pay on iPhone allows entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes in Greece to accept all types of in-person, contactless payments, from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets, using only an iPhone and the Worldline Smart POS  app - no additional hardware or payment terminal needed.

Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology uses the built-in security and privacy features of iPhone to help protect business and customer data. Apple doesn’t store card numbers on Apple servers, so merchants and customers can rest assured that their data stays theirs.* 

Using Tap to Pay on iPhone with the Worldline Smart POS app is easy, secure, and private. At checkout, merchants simply prompt customers to hold their preferred contactless payment method near the merchant’s iPhone, and the payment will be securely completed using NFC technology.

Tap to Pay on iPhone can be used both independently and as a complement to an existing payment terminal. Sales consultants can use their iPhone to complete the checkout process anywhere in the store, providing customers with a more personalized and seamless shopping experience, eliminating the need for customers having to go to the checkout and wait in line. Other areas of application are catering businesses, delivery services, taxi services and market traders.

*Encrypted card numbers are temporarily stored on iPhone only for transactions made in Store and Forward mode.
