Frequently Asked Questions for ANZ goMoney App Users

  • You can use Online EFTPOS if you:

    - Are at least 18 years old

    - Live in New Zealand, and

    - Have an eligible ANZ everyday account (e.g. a Go, Jumpstart or Freedom) or an ANZ Flexible Home Loan account with enough funds for the purchase.

  • To use Online EFTPOS with ANZ, you’ll need to:

    - Have an eligible ANZ everyday account (e.g. a Go, Jumpstart or Freedom) or an ANZ Flexible Home Loan account with enough funds for the purchase

    - Have your mobile number registered with ANZ OnlineCode. This mobile number can’t be registered to another ANZ customer. You can register for OnlineCode and check your preferences in ANZ Internet Banking under ‘Your settings’

    - Have the latest version of the ANZ goMoney app on your mobile device. Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to update or download the app.

  • To approve an Online EFTPOS payment request with ANZ:

    1. Open 'Payment Requests' in your ANZ goMoney app. 

    - For iOS, this is under 'Payments'                   

    - For Android, this is in the main menu.

    2. If it’s your first time using Online EFTPOS, you’ll need to tap ‘Yes, allow Payment Requests’ to let Online EFTPOS send Payment Requests to you in ANZ goMoney.

    3. Check the details of your payment request are correct and select the bank account you want to pay from.

    Tap ‘Approve’. Your money will be withdrawn immediately and cannot be stopped. Once the payment is approved, you’ll be able to see it in your account transactions.

    5. You can then return to the checkout.

    You need to approve a payment request within seven minutes, or it will expire. No payment will be made and you’ll have to return to the checkout to begin the process again.

    Please note that ANZ will never ask you to share your ANZ goMoney log in details and won’t send you a notification or text message. You can report suspicious behaviour by calling ANZ on 0800 269 348, or +64 4 499 4079 if you are overseas, charges may apply.

  • You need to use a mobile number that you’ve verified with Online Code or ANZ Pay to Mobile so ANZ can match Payment Requests to you.

     

    To register for or check your OnlineCode number:

    - Log into ANZ Internet Banking

    - Go to Your settings

    - Go to Change OnlineCode preferences

     

    To register for or update Pay to Mobile:

    - Log into ANZ goMoney

    - Go to Settings

    - Go to Pay to Mobile

  • There might be a few reasons why you didn’t receive a payment request in your ANZ goMoney app:

    - Double-check you're using the right mobile number at checkout.

    - Make sure you have the latest version of ANZ goMoney. Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download or update your app.

    - If you are spending over the ANZ Online EFTPOS transaction limit, use another payment method as a payment request will not appear.

    - The request will have expired if it’s been more than seven minutes since you started the payment. That means you need to begin the process again.

    - You need to have an eligible ANZ everyday account (e.g. Go, Jumpstart or Freedom) or an ANZ Flexible Home Loan account.
