Cashless payments at events - Zermatt Unplugged goes fully digital

Fresh air, beautiful scenery, music, togetherness…Zermatt Unplugged has it all. And this year, there was an additional star: 100% cashless – despite the unique challenges present for cashless payments in the mountainous, remote region – thanks to festival digitalisation specialist Dinaco and its partnership with Worldline. Worldline’s mobile payment terminals and Tap on Mobile ensured that attendees could pay however they preferred including through digital wallets, credit and debit cards, and TWINT.
Zermatt Unplugged: Alpine payments with no limits
Taking place in a small community located at the foot of the Matterhorn, Zermatt Unplugged has become a mainstay in the European music scene. Its 16th edition, which took place in April 2025, was a great success with 130 concerts, 17 stages and 35,000 visitors.
Between jam sessions and shows, payments were also in the spotlight. Attendees enjoyed a smooth payment process at the 100% cashless festival with the help of Dinaco, a specialist in the digitalisation of events, and Worldline. An extraordinary festival with unique challenges for cashless payments
Zermatt Unplugged is famed for its incredible atmosphere with a combination of music, mountain scenery and even spring snow. However, this context brings its own challenges.

This year, in addition to using Worldline physical terminals for Zermatt Unplugged, Dinaco also took advantage of Tap on Mobile.
