How Bikini Hotels Transformed its Payments Experience

22 / 06 / 2026

When it comes to premium hospitality, every touchpoint matters, including payments. Bikini Hotels, a design-driven lifestyle hospitality group in Mallorca known for its vibrant hotels and F&B concepts, recognised the need to modernise its hotel payment operations. With Bikini Hotels, Worldline and FreedomPay are demonstrating that their integrated hospitality payment solution extends beyond urban and business-oriented hotel segments into the lifestyle hospitality space, where frictionless payments are essential.

Payment challenges facing a premium hotel brand

Before the integration, Bikini Hotels relied on separate payment systems across front-desk and restaurant operations, with no shared view of guest payment activity. Staff manually cross-referenced charges across the property management system (PMS), the point-of-sale (POS) system, and separate payment platforms to compile final bills, a process that was time-consuming, error-prone, and inconsistent with the premium experience the brand delivers in every other part of the guest journey.

Three specific challenges drove the decision to modernise:

  • Disconnected payment flows across hotel and F&B operations, creating inconsistencies in the guest experience
  • Manual reconciliation across PMS, POS, and payment platforms, adding administrative overhead
  • Guest experience expectations from a lifestyle-oriented, international client base where guests interact with multiple payment touchpoints throughout their stay, from dining and spa to pool bar and on-site experiences, making frictionless payments at each moment critical to preserving the guest flow and encouraging ancillary spending
Miriam Kaszanndy, Accounting Manager Mallorca Hotels: "Every part of our guest experience is premium and our payments needed to match that standard."

An integrated hospitality payment solution

Worldline and FreedomPay implemented a fully integrated hospitality payment solution tailored to Bikini Hotels' operations:

  • Host2Host integration: FreedomPay's payment gateway is connected directly to Worldline's acquiring and dynamic currency conversion capabilities through a Host2Host connection coordinating payment routing, currency conversion, and settlement through a single, secure hotel payment integration.
  • Oracle OPERA and Simphony integration: payment terminals were integrated directly with Oracle OPERA (PMS) and Simphony (POS), ensuring front-desk and restaurant transactions flow through one unified system, eliminating manual workarounds between platforms.

The solution also includes offline transaction processing for environments where network stability can vary, reduced PCI scope by channelling all payment data through the FreedomPay gateway, and dynamic currency conversion so international guests can pay in their home currency while the hotel settles in euros.

Early results since going live

The solution has recently gone live, and Bikini Hotels will be tracking performance data closely over the coming months. However, early feedback from operational teams has been immediately positive.

Front-desk and restaurant staff report that the day-to-day payment process is noticeably faster and simpler. Charges from across the property — room, restaurant, bar — now appear in a single system, removing the need to manually compile bills at checkout. For a lifestyle hotel brand where guests frequently make ancillary purchases throughout their stay, from dining and spa to pool bar and experiences, removing friction from each of those payment moments helps maintain the guest flow and supports on-site revenue. Reconciliation that previously required cross-referencing multiple platforms is now handled through FreedomPay's consolidated reporting, giving the finance team a single view of payment activity across all outlets.

For guests, the difference is felt in small but meaningful moments, an international guest completing payment in their home currency without delay, a restaurant bill settled in seconds, a checkout that's faster because the bill is already consolidated.

Christian Guimerans, Finance Controller Mallorca Hotels: "The change was noticeable from day one. Our team spends less time on admin and more time with guests."

A scalable foundation for future hospitality payment growth

With a unified hotel payment foundation now in place, Bikini Hotels is well positioned to extend the solution across future properties and hospitality concepts including new payment methods, digital wallets, and loyalty programme integration. As the portfolio grows, the platform scales with it.

Biljana Bosnjak, VP Travel & Hospitality, Worldline: "Seeing this solution live at Bikini Hotels confirms what we set out to achieve with FreedomPay: a scalable, secure payments backbone built for hospitality."
Kevin Carson, SVP Global Partnerships, FreedomPay: "This is exactly what our partnership with Worldline was designed for: seamless, unified payments across every touchpoint in a hotel."

Key benefits of the integrated hospitality payment solution:
