Worldline supports Banca Sammarinese di Investimento SpA in modernising its payment systems to accelerate growth in the San Marino market
San Marino — 17 / 09 / 2026 The European leader in payment services will provide the bank with integrated Issuing and Acquiring solutions to strengthen technological innovation, regulatory compliance and scalability.
Worldline [Euronext: WLN], European leader in payment services, and Banca Sammarinese di Investimento (BSI) announce a new partnership aimed at accelerating the modernisation of the bank’s payment infrastructure through the adoption of advanced Issuing and Acquiring solutions. The bank has chosen Worldline, reflecting the strength of its integrated proposition across the payments value chain, which enables it to leverage synergies between the two areas while supporting BSI across the management and development of its services. With €2.5 billion in assets under administration, BSI is a leading player in San Marino’s financial sector.
To support its growth ambitions and the evolution of its offering, BSI will benefit from scalable and flexible Issuing and Acquiring platforms designed to accommodate increasing transaction volumes and the development of new services. The integrated management of cards, accounts and customer profiles will enable the bank to streamline processes and access real-time information via APIs. BSI will also be able to further strengthen payment security and its ability to respond to evolving regulatory requirements through advanced authentication solutions and Worldline’s payment platforms.
Bringing Issuing and Acquiring services together within the same partnership will also enable BSI to simplify the management of its payment infrastructure, working with a single technology partner capable of supporting both its current operational requirements and its future development.
BSI’s decision reflects the quality of Worldline’s solutions and platforms, its ability to provide tools that can evolve alongside the bank’s needs, and the strength of the relationship between the two organisations, characterised by expertise, responsiveness and close collaboration throughout every stage of the project. These qualities are becoming increasingly important in a payments market undergoing rapid transformation, where innovation, security and the ability to anticipate emerging needs are key competitive factors.
Pierluigi Rossetti, General Manager of Banca Sammarinese di Investimento, said: “Choosing Worldline reflects our commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Their solutions enable us to offer payment services that we consider highly valuable for our Bank and our customers, in line with a market that is increasingly demanding when it comes to digital services.”
Ilario Bolis, Head of Region Worldline Financial Services Italy, said: “We are particularly pleased to support BSI in this strategic project, which clearly reflects one of Worldline’s key strengths: our ability to combine innovative payment solutions and platforms developed and proven at European scale with a proposition tailored to the specific characteristics and requirements of each financial institution. In this case, the integration of Issuing and Acquiring services enables us to provide BSI with complementary expertise and a unified approach, supporting its growth and the evolution of its offering in a dynamic market such as San Marino”.
The collaboration with BSI further strengthens Worldline’s role as a payments partner for financial institutions, highlighting the value of an offering designed to address the emerging challenges of the payments industry through advanced payment solutions and platforms and a relationship model built on close collaboration.
