Worldline brings customer experience into the spotlight at NRF Retail’s big show 2020
Bezons — 03 / 01 / 2020
Worldline [Euronext: WLN], the European market leader in payment and transaction services, is excited to reveal its strategy to enhance consumer experience through futuristic live demos designed to help merchants and retailers feel how their customers are thinking.
Retailers are faced with increasing demands and growing expectations from their customers, fuelled by the ongoing digitization, globalization and the maturing of the e-commerce market. Online shopping today covers a rapidly growing part of the total sales and retailers operating in the physical world need, more than ever, to be able to offer new levels of shopping experiences to convince consumers to keep supporting them – by bringing instore and online shopping into one unified experience.
Against this background, Worldline identified three key challenges facing today’s retailers: market transformation (digital revolution and advanced technologies), customer expectation evolving quickly and constantly, and the need to adapt their business structure in a flexible and rapid way. Worldline has started to rethink the classic customer journey by bundling a set of solutions – with the purpose of giving retailers the advanced technologies and services needed to meet some of these challenges.
At NRF 2020, on Booth #545, visitors can step into their customer’s shoes: Worldline will showcase its one-stop-shop solution for seamless consumer experience and Omni-channel services for in-store, out-of-store and back-office including WL One Commerce Hub and the ground-breaking interactive payment devices YUMI and VALINA. At a futuristic exhibition stand designed to help merchants understand what’s inside their customers’ minds, Worldline will inspire both merchants and providers to rethink the ways to win customers and to feel the power of an excellent Omnichannel strategy.
Merchants can discover advance technologies and services that help them meet market challenges As part of its demonstration, Worldline will showcase six different use-cases of YUMI that merchants can experiment with including Scan&Pay, Try&Buy, Click&Collect, Web-in-Store, RFID/Barcode, and Smartshelves. For out-of-store solutions, Worldline will be showcasing how VALINA is used in Pay@Pump, VALIN’ACCESS and Connected Cooler. With WL One-Commerce-Hub retailers will be able to experience different use cases for back office services including OneSource and Data Analytics Platform to see how they can maximise their data.
In addition, Worldline will present its brand new face-recognition payment solution developed in collaboration with OneVisage, the winners of Worldline’s e-Payments Challenge. Worldline and OneVisage will demonstrate the first Pay-with-your-face solution that uses 3D facial biometry and respects the users’ data privacy, giving them back the full control of their biometry unlike all other alternatives on the market.
“The power of transformation lies in deep understanding and anticipation of what drives today’s consumers. Who imagined the shockingly powerful acceleration of e-commerce some years ago that took by surprise even the most advanced brick and mortar stores that were considered masters of the retail space? Rather than talking about our solutions, we invite merchants of all sectors to co-imagine their customers’ journey together with our experts and contribute to the shopping experience of the future. Worldline consistently invests in growing the company’s reach and we want to cover all merchant expectations in the physical, as well as the digital space and be the one who delivers all payment acceptance solutions for all types of merchant categories.”
Vincent Roland, Managing Director Merchant Services of Worldline
Apart from being able to help merchants deploy a smart Omnichannel strategy tailormade to their market, Worldline’s global customer base demonstrates that merchants benefit from a strategic technology partner to scale their business both in terms of geographical reach, selection of payment means and range of value-added service to supplement the core payment solutions.
