Worldline [Euronext: WLN], a global leader in payments services, has released the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Hub within Spatial, a significant upgrade to its white-label solution for merchants seeking access to the Metaverse.

Through this platform extension, online businesses will be able to benefit from major advances in graphical quality and accessibility across desktop, mobile and VR devices. With the Metaverse e-commerce marketplace estimated to reach US$2.6 trillion by 2030 according to McKinsey, this platform extension will provide merchants who do not have a Metaverse presence with a market-leading solution and offer their customers an even more engaging experience in the new era of commerce.

After a successful launch of the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Mall earlier this year in Decentraland, Worldline now adds Spatial, thus creating a Metaverse Shopping Hub across various Metaverse platforms. Understanding the transformative nature of gaming's influence on the digital world, season two within Spatial will provide new customer engagement methods supportive of the digital environment's pre-existing intuitive behaviours. For example, merchants can incentivise users to participate in virtual scavenger hunts, allowing them to collect digital eggs in exchange for community card NFT rewards.

This is the beginning of providing merchants with new inventive ways to create exciting customer experiences. By engaging customers in different ways, Worldline can enable merchants to establish stronger relationships with their customers within the new Metaverse environment. Thereby, merchants can continue to build their first Metaverse presence with the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Mall and count on attractive add-on packages in the areas of Metaverse Advertising, Phygital Experiences and Augmented Reality solutions in addition to Worldline's starter package.

Spatial offers major enhancements to accessibility, enabling customers to enter the Metaverse through means beyond computers, with options to join using virtual reality headsets and smartphones. Accessibility does not stop at hardware, as Worldline's solution encompasses expansive payment options. This offer includes up to 150 methods, from standard credit and debit cards, E-wallets such as PayPal, mobile payments on Apple Pay and buy-now-pay-later services such as Klarna. These examples and many more, are all offered through Worldline’s trusted payment platform.

Sascha Muenger, Head Competence Center Crypto Related Products & Metaverse at Worldline says: “We are delighted to present the second season of our Metaverse Shopping Mall in Spatial. This important milestone gives us the opportunity to create a new shopping experience together with some of our most innovative customers and take another step towards commerce solutions in the Metaverse.”

Expanding reach in Germany and Austria with PAYONE

The launch of the Metaverse Shopping Hub Season Two also marks a geographical expansion:  PAYONE, a joint venture between Worldline and the German Savings Banks Association  (DSV Group), will also distribute the Worldline Metaverse White Label solution in Germany and Austria, starting in the 1st quarter of 2024. This collaboration will bring global innovation to important local markets and will help to further scale the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Mall, allowing more merchants to gain initial experience around the Metaverse as a potential new commerce channel alongside point of sale and eCommerce.

Viljem Brielmayer, Head of Product Management at PAYONE,,adds: "It is in PAYONE's DNA to bring innovations to the German and Austrian payment market and support our merchant base with Omnichannel commerce solutions. With the Worldline Metaverse offering, we are very pleased to bring another substantial innovation to our core markets and give merchants easy access to the Metaverse."
