Transforming journeys for tomorrow

Worldline Transport Operations is a global leader in operational rail systems, delivering excellence in train and resource planning, track access management, and freight billing. With over 20 years of experience supporting Railway Undertakings and Infrastructure Managers worldwide, our modern, proven product suite is designed to meet your needs – today and into the future.

Access Planning

Worldline delivers advanced Access Planning solutions to Infrastructure Managers (IMs) across Central and Western Europe and beyond. Our next-generation platform enables the efficient handling of rail path requests – from submission through to planning, assessment, costing, and response. Designed to support both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, the solution ensures that IMs can confidently manage capacity, test that planned timetables are robust, and respond to applicants with speed and transparency.

Train & Resource Planning

Developing a long-term train plan or making short-term adjustments due to engineering work or special events requires precision and expertise. Worldline’s planning solutions assist rail planners by automating the creation and validation of schedules, including rolling stock and crew work plans.

The impact of proposed timetable changes on stock and traincrew can be assessed rapidly, as can compliance with contractual terms and union agreements. A configurable rules-based validation engine continuously monitors the evolving plan and alerts users to any potential issues, helping to ensure a compliant, high-quality output.

Resource plans can be quickly built using semi-automated tools, with automatic inclusion of reversals and other required activities at appropriate locations.

Traincrew Rostering

Train crew represent one of the largest operational costs in the rail industry, making efficient rostering essential. Worldline’s rostering solution enables the creation of optimal base rosters and supports real-time attendance management, both weekly and daily.

Using state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence, the system ensures that all work turns are efficiently resourced to maximise service delivery. The solution is complemented by a suite of mobile self-service tools, allowing staff to view current and upcoming duties, request and manage leave, and arrange duty swaps with colleagues.

The system is compatible with the management of on-train crew, station, and engineering staff. It supports knowledge tracking, attendance recording, and integrates with payroll to ensure accurate compensation.  When combined with our Operational Control solution, any on-the-day changes to duties or hours are automatically reflected in records, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date view of workforce activity.

Operational Resource Control

Despite the best planning, real-time disruptions such as delays, equipment issues, or staff absence can quickly affect service delivery. Worldline’s Operational Control suite is designed to monitor and predict the impact of such events, enabling proactive intervention.

The system identifies emerging issues and recommends corrective actions to reduce knock-on effects. When incidents do occur, it supports the management of cascading delays and supports rapid recovery to planned services.

With the ability to filter and prioritise issues by route or role, the system empowers resource controllers to focus on areas requiring immediate attention – helping keep services on time and customers moving.

Customer Information

Worldline provides customer information services for more than 70 percent of railway stations in the United Kingdom. Working in partnership with hardware providers, we deliver data to station screens, help points, and public address systems, with full multilingual support.

Our solution is fully resilient – even in the event of communication outages across the station – and is enriched with operational data to support accessibility, loading levels, train orientation, and platform zoning.

In addition, our Colleague App delivers real-time information to station staff, including live train running data, disruption-related ticket acceptance rules, passenger assistance, and on-site facilities.

Freight Billing

In many regions, freight transport is the primary use of the railway network. Worldline offers a comprehensive freight ordering, booking, and invoicing platform used by freight operators across much of Europe.

Capable of managing complex, cross-border transport arrangements, our freight billing system streamlines commercial operations and ensures accurate, auditable financial processes from end-to-end.
