What´s a typical day in the life of a Business Portfolio Manager at Worldline?
There are so many different ways to approach my day so that it is always engaging. Today I get to expand my network and learn more about our services. Tomorrow I could be working with the product marketing team to approach new clients.
How does the work you do as Business Portfolio Manager impact the world around us?
In assisting and advising our sales and product divisions I’m aiming to better position our services, which in turn have the power to improve quality of life for you and me, the end-users of our services.
What do you think is the next big thing in your field of work?
To me, the next big milestone will be the first country that becomes truly cashless. They will have successfully implemented a range of alternative payment methods and digital currencies, which would be really cool!
What´s the best thing about working at Worldline?
The best thing about working at Worldline? That´s easy – the people! They make the work and the day-to-day challenges that much more enjoyable.
How has Worldline helped you develop and grow professionally?
The trainee programmes at Worldline are top-notch. Both in content and the support you receive. Additionally, there have been multiple networking opportunities that have allowed me to get in touch with many interesting stakeholders throughout the company.
What are the culture and people like at Worldline?
Open and accessible – that’s how I would describe the culture at Worldline. I see innovators, motivators and experts everywhere, and I’ve never encountered anyone not willing to listen or share their knowledge. Quite amazing, isn´t it?
What is your passion in life, and how do you pursue it?
My big passion in life is bowling; setting a goal (becoming National Champion within 5 years) and creating a plan on how to achieve that. In my working life I do it the same way. Set goals, make a plan and repeat. Don’t worry about whether you achieve it or not as you will learn so much along the way.
What´s key to success when working in a global company like Worldline?
I strongly believe that being open to opportunities and being helpful to colleagues are the two most important keys to success when working in a global organisation like this one. For me, it´s really about building a network within the company that is as there for you as you are there for them.
What drives you at work?
I´m driven by the idea that I´m able to achieve something of value. Either intrinsically or something that brings value to the company. Those kinds of things leave you with energy at the end of the day.
What would be your perfect weekend?
Currently, my ideal weekend is spent with my 9-month-old daughter. Possibly a dinner with friends or family. And to top it off a tour of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug on the racing bike. You don´t want to miss it!
