What’s next for Open Banking?
09 / 05 / 2023
Despite the fact that PSD2 was introduced way back in 2019, Open Banking payment transactions are still a tiny fraction of total payment volumes. Will it grow? Are we going to see other innovations driven by Open Banking? What more radical disruptions could it bring?
We find out from our guest Dr Michael Salmony, Internationally recognised leader on strategy of business innovations in digital and financial services, with a particular focus on Payments, Open Finance, FinTech, Digital Identity and Electronic Money/CBDCs. We look at how Open Banking has evolved; how banks, FinTechs and other industry players have reacted to it; what use cases are being tried; how it can impact merchants; and how it will evolve in the future.
Each episode of season 1 of Navigating Digital Payments is based on a chapter from the 2021 report published by the Worldline Discovery Hub which you can download here.
